So, I’m a bit behind the times, but Stephen Black’s first novel, The Kirkwood Scott Chronicles: Skelly’s Square is now available to purchase in ebook, or paperback form! If you recall, this was the novel that I edited earlier this year, which is receiving great reviews 🙂
I have just found that Booktopia, a large Australian site (that I use regularly!) is selling the paperback version of the book! It is also available on Amazon as an ebook or paperback.
If you read Stephen’s book, remember to give him a review, and also let me know!
Hi again, I’ve realised that I haven’t updated my lovely followers about my editing work. Well, I have fabulous news! I edited Stephen Black’s first ever novel earlier this year, and now he has a publishing deal! I’m very proud of his efforts…and ok, yes I’m pretty proud of mine too. Since finishing my second qualification I’ve had a couple of articles published, edited Stephen’s book, helped a new writer self-publish his short stories and completed some small online content jobs. Onwards and upwards from here.
IT’S COMING! ‘The Kirkwood Scott Chronicles: Skelly’s Square.’ Only 5 weeks to publication. My first book will be available to buy via Amazon in e book and paperback format. I’m excited. Are you? Please feel free to reblog and spread the word. Thank you 😊

I’m happy to say that I’ve been far too busy to post weekly blogs! I have a number of editing projects on the go. The work varies between copyediting a manuscript for a novel, editing short stories, and also some IT work editing work safety diagrams for a business. I’m loving it!
All this is on top of my existing work 3 days a week, ensuring my employer meets their quality accreditation obligations. Of course, there are always the ever-present demands of my little family too. I wouldn’t change a thing!
I’m also working on my official website lauradobra.com.au behind the scenes, which currently sends curious visitors here, to my blog. Stay tuned for more info about my projects, but more importantly – posts about entirely useful things like, How to make Laura’s Italian pasta sauce and meatballs!
Last weekend I attended the New Norcia Writers’ Festival, which was the best writers’ festival I’ve ever been to. Well, ok, it’s the only writers’ festival I’ve been to – but it has now set the bar very high for all the other ones I want to attend!
Setting it apart from other festivals is its location, out in the Australian bush, amongst the historic buildings of the Benedictine monastery town of New Norcia. New Norcia is Australia’s only monastic town, so if you are ever visiting Perth, Western Australia (WA), I recommend you pay New Norcia a visit for an experience you won’t get anywhere else. (more…)
