Jane Smith was born in a small town in the state of New York, the daughter of a social worker and a schoolteacher. Jane’s mother was very fond of reading. Jane inherited her passion and read a lot as a child. At the age of seven, she began writing her first short stories, which were very popular among the Smith family's friends. Later, Ernest Hemingway and John Steinbeck were her major literary influences. She became widely known for her best-selling Amy Collins novels and, of course, her stand-alone novel Imaginary Book, which won the Literary Award. Now Jane lives in Greenwich Village with her husband, John, and their children, Dave and Betty. She has lots of creative plans for the future and will continue delighting her fans with her exquisite style.
